FriesenPress Referral Program Terms

This Referral Agreement (the “Agreement”) is entered into between FriesenPress Inc. (“FriesenPress”), a Manitoba corporation with its principal offices located at One Printers Way, Altona, MB, R0G 0B0, and the person, organization, or entity sending referrals to FriesenPress (the “Referrer”). The Agreement commences upon a referral being sent by the Referrer to FriesenPress.

WHEREAS, FriesenPress is in the business of providing self-publishing services and related services to its authors (the “Services”); and WHEREAS, the parties desire to enter into a referral relationship under which the Referrer shall send potential authors to FriesenPress in exchange for a Reward when a sale closes (as defined below and provided herein).

NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the foregoing and of other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows:

1. Enrollment and Program Mechanics

All FriesenPress authors with access to the FriesenPress Account Center and current FriesenPress employees are automatically enrolled in this program and bound by these program terms.

Others wishing to participate in this program must register via the form located online at https://www.friesenpress.com/referral or via direct registration by one of FriesenPress’s Referral Program managers. Referrers must submit all information as required. FriesenPress will notify Referrers of their acceptance into the program via email. Following successful enrollment, relevant information as requested must be provided in the secure FriesenPress Account Center.

2. Basic Agreements

FriesenPress agrees to pay a Referrer a referral reward for new FriesenPress authors according to the rates and terms detailed under “Referral Rewards” below and to provide newly referred FriesenPress authors a 10% pre-tax discount on all regularly priced FriesenPress Products & Services (limited to the first order only), including Publishing Paths.

Referrers agree to refer new individuals to FriesenPress for Services and support and to provide and maintain on file with FriesenPress the current Referrer address and other contact information.

3. Rewards & Eligibility

For the Referrer to be eligible for rewards, referred authors must not have contacted FriesenPress through any of FriesenPress’s marketing and promotions activities including (but not limited to) Google Ads, Facebook advertising, events, or other referrals.

FriesenPress Referrers can register referred individuals and be eligible for rewards through the following methods:

  1. Referrers will be provided unique links to FriesenPress-branded referral registration page(s), available in their Account Center. When referred individuals fill out the form on the landing page, their account will automatically be linked to the associated FriesenPress Referral Program account. Referrers may not submit or add referred individuals without their consent.

  2. Referred individuals are permitted to call or email us. They must mention the Referrer’s name prior to purchase so we can link them to the relevant Referrer account.

4. Referral Rewards

A Referrer shall be entitled to a one-time Referral Reward following the first Publishing Path purchased by referred individuals. Rewards will be eligible to be claimed when the referred individual has signed their Services Agreement and has been assigned a Publishing Specialist. Reward rates vary per Path purchased; visit our website for current rates.

Referrals received before January 9th, 2025 will be paid at the previous referral program rates of $150 cash or $250 FriesenPress credit.

Rewards are not paid on additional Paths purchased by the referred individual and Reward payments cannot be split amongst multiple individuals or parties.

FriesenPress is not responsible for any referrals that are not linked to a Referrer for any reason, without limitation including any inaccurate information provided by the Referrer and/or their referral, such as incorrect names or contact information.

5. Payment Procedures and Forfeitures

Rewards claimed as cash will be compiled and paid out at the beginning of the following month. Canadian Referrers’ cash rewards will be paid via eTransfer. All other non-Canadian Referrers will be via mailed cheques. No other payment forms are permitted.

Rewards claimed as credit can be accessed through the Referrer’s Account Center immediately after claiming. Credit on account can be used for payment of FriesenPress products or services (including book orders), has no expiry, and cannot be exchanged for cash.

6. Referrer Information Changes

It is the Referrer’s responsibility to notify FriesenPress of any changes in name, address, phone, email, or any other relevant account information. FriesenPress will send all correspondence to the most recent information provided by the Referrer and will not be held responsible for out-of-date information.

7. General

The terms and conditions of the Program are subject to change and/or termination without notice, except for referrals accepted by FriesenPress prior to the effective date of such changes or termination. Any changes to the terms of Program on the FriesenPress website and Account Center shall be deemed adequate and full notice to all Referrers. The terms hereof cannot be modified except through this website or a written advisory.

8. Term of Agreement; Survival

The initial term of this Agreement shall commence as of the first referral being sent by the Referrer to FriesenPress (as indicated above) and shall continue indefinitely unless terminated as provided herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may terminate this Agreement and a Referrer’s participation in the program at any time, with or without cause, effective immediately following notice provided in writing via email to the other party.

9. Independent Contractors

The relationship between FriesenPress and the Referrer shall be and shall at all times remain that of independent contractors and not that of employer and employee, franchisor and franchisee, joint ventures, or partners. This Agreement does not establish either party as the other party’s agent or representative for any purpose. Neither party shall have any authority of any kind to bind the other party in any respect whatsoever. Without limiting the generality of the preceding sentence, neither party is authorized to accept orders or to enter into contracts or any obligation in the other party’s name, or to transact any business on behalf of the other party.

10. Notices

FriesenPress may give notice to the Referrer by email to the Referrer’s email address on file. The Referrer may give notice to FriesenPress by sending an email to publishing@friesenpress.com.
