L.K. Elliott first contacted FriesenPress in August 2014:
From the first phone call I received from FriesenPress, I knew I was about to embark on an amazing adventure, and I knew I wouldn’t be going it alone. I had written my first book, Confessions of an Ex Hot Mess, and I was ready to release it to the world. But I had one problem: how would I get it published?
Publishing independently meant that I got to maintain creative control over my project from start to finish, but I knew I couldn’t do it on my own. That’s where the search began for a middle ground in which I could be creative, but also be professionally guided to create the best possible version of my book.
From day one, I got the impression that FriesenPress was much more like a family than a business, and that feeling was validated every step of the way. I felt completely supported during the entire process, and my best interests were always the top priority of my amazing team.
